De-icing
De-Icing and Anti-Icing
Clearing the snow is half the job. Packed snow that melts and refreezes turns to ice, and ice is what people slip on.
Anti-icing means applying liquid de-icer to pavement before a storm, so falling snow can't bond to the surface and form ice underneath. Automated Lawn & Pest Control uses it alongside granular de-icer and sanding to keep driveways, walkways and parking lots safer to walk and drive on.
- Liquid anti-icing goes down before the snow arrives. Snow that lands on treated pavement doesn't bond to it, so it clears more easily and is less likely to leave a layer of ice behind.
- Liquid and granular de-icers melt ice that has already formed on driveways, sidewalks and lots.
- Sanding adds traction where ice remains, like slopes, steps and busy walkways.
De-icing is available for homes and businesses. Ask about it when we set up your plan or write your contract.

Questions
Snow Removal Questions
How much does snow removal cost in Spokane?
It depends on the size of the driveway or lot, the trigger depth you choose and how you're billed, so Automated Lawn & Pest Control quotes every property individually, and estimates are free. Homeowners can pick monthly or per-service billing; commercial pricing is set in the contract. Call (509) 818-1831 or request a snow removal quote.
What is a snow removal trigger depth?
A trigger, or threshold, is the depth of new snow that sends a crew to your property. A lower trigger means more visits and less snow ever sitting on your driveway; a higher trigger means fewer visits. We offer several triggers, so you can choose the one that fits your household and budget.
Do you plow commercial parking lots?
Yes. Commercial snow removal runs on a structured contract with a detailed scope of work covering the parking lots and walkways to be cleared, with plowing, sanding and de-icing as needed. See commercial snow removal and the rest of our commercial property services.
When should I sign up for snow removal?
In the fall, before the first snow. Setting up your plan ahead of time means your trigger depth and billing are settled, and your property is on our list, before the first storm hits.
