Sprinklers & Irrigation

Sprinkler System Installation in Spokane, WA

Automated Lawn & Pest Control designs and installs sprinkler systems for homes and businesses in Spokane, Spokane Valley and Coeur d'Alene. Each install starts with a look at your yard and water supply, then pipe, valves and heads laid out for even coverage, a controller set up for your zones (Wi-Fi if you want it) and drip lines for beds and trees where they fit.

How it works

How a Sprinkler System Installation Works

The right layout depends on your yard and your water supply, so every install starts with a consultation on site.

  1. Assessment and design

We look at the lawn, beds and trees, check water pressure and flow, then design the zones and head layout around your property.

  2. Pipe, valves and heads

Pipe is run underground to each zone, the valves go in and every head is set and adjusted so the water lands on the lawn, not the sidewalk.

  3. Controller setup

The controller is installed and programmed for your zones. Choose a Wi-Fi controller and you can adjust watering from your phone.

  4. Drip lines where they fit

Shrub beds, trees and garden beds can get drip lines on their own valves, so plants are watered at the roots instead of sprayed.

Smart irrigation

Wi-Fi Controllers & Drip Irrigation

A Wi-Fi controller lets you change watering times from your phone instead of at the controller itself. Drip irrigation delivers water slowly at the base of plants in beds, around trees and in gardens, instead of spraying leaves and mulch.

We install both on new systems and add them to systems that are already in the ground. On a South Hill landscape renovation, we paired Wi-Fi smart irrigation with drip lines in the shrub beds and separate drip valves for the trees and a raised garden bed.

You don't need everything on day one, either. A system can be updated over time, with new zones, drip lines or a new controller added as your landscape changes.

Sprinklers for a Rental Curb-Appeal Makeover

Irrigation was one of three things this property needed, along with fencing and landscaping.

A rental property on a limited budget

The rental was struggling to attract tenants, and the owner needed to keep costs down. We focused on high-impact, low-cost improvements: irrigation, fencing and a simple design with low-maintenance plants and black basalt rock beds, followed by weekly maintenance. The unit filled faster than expected, and the owner was able to charge a higher monthly rent.

Questions

Sprinkler Installation Questions

How much does it cost to install a sprinkler system in Spokane?

It depends on the size of the yard, how many zones it needs, your water supply and extras like drip lines or a Wi-Fi controller. Automated Lawn & Pest Control gives free estimates on new systems after looking at the property, so the price is based on your yard rather than an average.

Can you add drip lines or new zones to my existing sprinkler system?

Yes. Drip lines, new zones and controller upgrades can be added to a system that's already in the ground, and an older system can be revamped instead of replaced. If part of your system isn't working now, start with sprinkler repair.

Do you install Wi-Fi sprinkler controllers?

Yes, on new systems and as an upgrade to existing ones. A Wi-Fi controller lets you adjust run times from your phone, and we program it for your zones when it goes in.

Can you put in sprinklers as part of a landscaping project?

Yes. Our new-home landscape project started as a sprinkler system install and grew into a full landscape, and irrigation is part of our landscape design and construction work.

Does a new sprinkler system need to be winterized?

Yes. Every sprinkler system in the Spokane area needs a blowout before the first hard freeze, new ones included. Compressed air clears the water from the lines, valves and heads so nothing freezes and cracks over the winter.
